HITACHI ALPS OCEAN TRAIL 2026
Also known as: HITACHI ALPS OCEAN TRAIL Long 42km · Hitachi Alps Trail
The 42 km category of the Hitachi Alps OCEAN Trail starts and finishes at Oku-Hitachi Kirara no Sato in Hitachi, Ibaraki, and traverses the Hitachi Alps, a chain of seven hills of 200-600 m. It turns at the main peak Mt. Takasuzu (623 m) and the Sukegawa lookout, then rounds the Kamine-yama and Kamine Park viewpoints, a panoramic course with the Pacific on one side and hills on the other. 2026 is the 3rd edition.
The course tops out at 626 m (low point 87 m). There are 2 big climbs: 437 m around 12–19 km; 518 m around 31–39 km. About 30% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade).
