A 100-mile-plus trail race along the Kuma River in Kumamoto, held by Yatsushiro, Itsuki and Mizukami to support recovery from the July 2020 floods. The Kumagawa course leaves the headwaters in Mizukami village before dawn, crosses Futono Pass, Mt. Takatsuka, Mt. Nokeboshi and Mt. Shiraiwa and finishes at Yohai Hachinoji Square near the river mouth in Yatsushiro: about 163 km with 9,400 m of climbing in 41 hours. The 5th edition (2026) was cancelled after the Kumamoto earthquake.
