A one-way 100-miler from Yunoyama Onsen in Mie through the Suzuka range, the Konan Alps, Mt. Hiei and the Hira mountains around Lake Biwa, finishing on the lakeshore in Otsu. Chains and narrow ridges are frequent, and sparse marking makes navigation part of the test.
The course tops out at 1,208 m (low point 78 m). There are 2 big climbs: 864 m around 0–9 km; 985 m around 150–158 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 74% of starters finished. The median finish was about 45 h, through 2 nights.
