The 50 km one-way category of the Rokko Cannonball Run goes from Sumaura Park in Kobe along the full Mt. Rokko traverse to Takarazuka (Yumotodai square). Held twice a year, spring and autumn, since 2009, it is a self-supported grassroots race with the motto "anything but an engine": no course markings or marshals, navigate by map and GPS, and tip-jar aid stations serving food and drinks. The same weekend hosts the 100 km out-and-back POWER, the night-start NIGHT SPEED and the 150 km RAINBOW.
