Monk's Run 2026

The 40 km long course of the Monk's Run starts and finishes in the temple town below Kuonji, head temple of Nichiren Buddhism, and links Mt. Minobu and Mt. Shichimen (about 1,200 m of climb) along the old Minobu pilgrim road: 2,700 m of total climbing with checkpoints at Hagoromo, Keishin-in and Sunose and an 8-hour limit. A race with a strong Buddhist flavour, run on pilgrim paths in early December.
