The roughly 40 km, +2,114 m point-to-point category of the Otari Salt Road Trail, from Itoigawa Seaside Valley ski resort in Niigata along the historic Salt Road to the Tsugaike village gymnasium in Otari, Nagano. One cutoff at Wellness (20 km) and a 9-hour limit; open to junior-high age and up.
The course tops out at 838 m (low point 242 m). There are 3 big climbs: 596 m around 0–5 km; 324 m around 20–27 km; 328 m around 30–40 km. The longest descent drops 554 m around 5 km at about 21% on average. About 30% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade).
