JYOETSU MYOKO EXPRESS TRAIL 2026

A loop that starts and finishes at Kamabuta Ruins Park in front of JR Joetsumyoko Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen. From the trails around Mt. Aota-Nanbayama it follows the old Kuwatori road, the Kakuma rice terraces and Jogamine, then passes Kanaya-yama, the birthplace of skiing in Japan, on the way back to the station.
The course tops out at 947 m (low point 19 m). The main climb comes right from the start: 928 m around 0–10 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 97% of starters finished. The median finish was about 8 h.
